Gerry’s MTG Arena Decklists for RNA BO1

Best-of-one is tough to crack. Standard has some polarizing decks at the moment, like Turbo Nexus and Mono-Red, which doesn’t make things easy. However, I’ve been playing a ton of Arena and have found some decks I really like.

They even include sideboards.

4 Opt
2 Revitalize
3 Chemister’s Insight
2 Search for Azcanta
4 Teferi, Hero of Dominaria
2 Syncopate
2 Negate
4 Absorb
4 Settle the Wreckage
2 Cleansing Nova
4 Warrant
2 Ixalan’s Binding
2 Memorial to Genius
4 Hallowed Fountain
4 Glacial Fortress
8 Island
7 Plains

Sideboard
2 Invoke the Divine
3 Shalai, Voice of Plenty
2 Lyra Dawnbringer
1 Negate
2 Spell Pierce
4 History of Benalia
1 Ixalan’s Binding

Given the nature of best-of-one on MTG Arena and the prevalence of Mono-Red, I’d like to get additional copies of Revitalize into the maindeck, but don’t know what to cut as everything else seems mandatory. Ixalan’s Binding is possibly the least important card against most decks, but the most important card vs very few decks.

Shrug.

The only win condition is Warden (and looping Teferi), so it’s not conducive for quick games or against opposing control decks necessarily. A single Nexus of Fate would likely give you inevitability, but doesn’t solve the game length issue. The fastest win condition is probably some copies of Angel of Grace, but the best one-of win condition is a Dawn of Hope.

4 Llanowar Elves
4 Pelt Collector
4 Growth-Chamber Guardian
4 Thorn Lieutenant
2 Kraul Harpooner
4 Gruul Spellbreaker
2 Thrashing Brontodon
3 Nullhide Ferox
4 Skarrgan Hellkite
2 Ghalta, Primal Hunger
4 Rhythm of the Wild
4 Stomping Ground
4 Rootbound Crag
10 Forest
5 Mountain

Sideboard
2 Vivien Reid
3 Domri, Chaos Bringer
2 Cindervines
4 Lava Coil
1 Thrashing Brontodon
1 Ravager Wurm
2 Kraul Harpooner

Thorn Lieutenant and the three-drop X/4s stem the early bleeding from Mono-Red. Big haste threats close the game before you get burned out.

Nullhide Ferox could be Rekindling Phoenix, but it’s worse on the mana and would require Jadelight Ranger or District Guide.

4 Gutterbones
4 Footlight Fiend
4 Dusk Legion Zealot
4 Priest of Forgotten Gods
4 Rix Maadi Reveler
1 Reassembling Skeleton
4 Judith, the Scourge Diva
2 Midnight Reaper
3 Ravenous Chupacabra
4 Carnival//Carnage
2 Theater of Horrors
2 Memorial to Folly
9 Swamp
5 Mountain
4 Blood Crypt
4 Dragonskull Summit

Sideboard
2 Drill Bit
3 Duress
4 Lava Coil
1 Theater of Horrors
1 Midnight Reaper
2 Plaguecrafter
2 Cast Down

This deck is admitedly less good against Mono-Red, but is by far the most fun.

The Drill Bit / Duress split is because I want Duress against Mono-Red even though Drill Bit is better against control.

Some other decks that I’ve liked are anything with Wildgrowth Walker and the Explore package, Orzhov/Boros/Mardu Angels, and Izzet Drakes.

If you’ve been doing well with something, please share it!
