Where do I even begin with this one?
Using Greasefang, Okiba Boss to reanimate Parhelion II has shown up in Pioneer and Historic. It seemed a tad too slow for Modern, but maybe this deck fixed those issues. While you’re spinning your wheels trying to get your combo online, the opposing Modern deck is likely doing a good job of killing you, so you either need to be fast, consistent, or have interaction. Asmor is one of the best cards at slowing down creature decks and The Underworld Cookbook is one of the best discard outlets in the format, so the combination makes sense. Additionally, Greasefang and Asmor are both excellent targets for Unearth and Can’t Stay Away.
Both Stitcher’s Supplier and Undead Butler fill the graveyard and Deadly Dispute can trigger their second abilities. Then there’s Urza’s Saga playing the role of backup plan. There’s so much going on here that it’s difficult to imagine how it all plays out. You’ll likely see a wide variety of different board states when playing a deck like this. Give it a try for yourself and find out.
