The post-Lurrus ban metagame shifts have finally started to manifest, and the two Tier 1 occupants that lost their favorite companion are finally giving up some ground as they slide into Tier 1.5. This leaves Four-Color Midrange as the lone Tier 1 deck in the format as it continues to bring fresh configurations and strong results to every single event.
Our bottom Tier welcomes some new blood in the form of a Living End deck that finally looks to be shedding its “glass cannon” status, and a shocking Modern Showcase winner in Golgari Midrange. No one tell my fellow boomers that Liliana of the Veil is back–it’s already hard enough for us to compete with the game’s rising stars without taking on that kind of handicap.
Finally, I begrudgingly promote Temur Rhinos to Tier 1.5. Facts are facts, and the deck continues to rack up top placements in the latest incarnation of the metagame. Show this deck some respect so I can kick it off my list ASAP!
